A Noteworthy Anniversary

Martin Luther King, Jr.Fifty-five years ago, on October 14, 1964, Martin Luther King, Jr., became the youngest person to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. According to Stanford’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute, the chairman of the Nobel Committee praised King for being “the first person in the Western world to have shown us that a struggle can be waged without violence. He is the first to make the message of brotherly love a reality in the course of his struggle.”
