Halloween Fun: Compare/Contrast

It was a delight to see illustrator John Shelley’s interpretation of another of my picture book texts when Crinkle, Crackle, Crack: It’s Spring! was published earlier this year. John was also the illustrator for my picture book Halloween Forest. If you visit here, you'll see a fascinating post about his working process for that title.I find it fascinating to sit down with the two books side by side and compare and contrast the choices John made to evoke differing moods and seasons.Why not take the opportunity to introduce both titles to your students for a similar compare/contrast activity now that fall is fully in the air?
