Social-Emotional Learning and On My Honor

On My HonorThe term “social-emotional learning” was not well-known when I wrote my Newbery Honor-winning title On My Honor. But the fact that the novel continues to be widely used in classrooms is due in part, I believe, to the fact that it prompts important classroom discussions about topics that promote social-emotional learning. If you haven’t used the book with your students, the Teachers’ Guide available on my website provides a good starting point for such discussions.
