Thank You for Your Reader Reviews!

RuntAuthors are sometimes warned away from reading the reviews left online by readers, for fear that we’ll overreact to negative feedback. But in fact, I find that most reader reviews are honest and thoughtful, and it can be very informative to scan them to see how my books are being received. In browsing through the customer reviews for my novel Runt, for instance, I saw a couple of recommendations for the title that particularly noted its success with young readers who have short attention spans.Teacher recommendations—such as this review of Runt posted on Amazon by Craig L. Roy in 2015—give me especially helpful feedback: “Oh how my third grade class loves this book. It leaves them begging for more! We study wolves as part of our life cycle unit and it ties in very nicely. Awesome book!”Thank you if you are one of those readers who has left a thoughtful review somewhere online for me to consider!
