The Rainbow After the Rain

Am I Blue?I was honored to see Book Riot give a shout out to my anthology Am I Blue? Coming Out from the Silence in their article about the history of YA anthologies. I still take enormous pride in this collection, and it’s nice to see it acknowledged in this context.

Speaking of pride, as this article in TIME points out, some LGBTQ people may have faced special challenges because of the coronavirus pandemic, such as “forcing LGBTQ youth back into living with their families in lockdown where they may not be accepted.” The pandemic has also led to the cancellation of many in-person June Pride events. However, the celebration isn’t shutting down; it’s simply moving online, with Global Pride to be celebrated online on June 27. I hope you will encourage the young people in your life to take part in what the TIME article calls the “rainbow after the rain,” along with taking the opportunity to explore my anthology and other great LGBTQ reads over the month of June.
