Foster Child
Synopsis
"You'll like the Becks, Renny," Miss Kistner, the social worker, said. "They've been keeping foster children for ten years, and they're lovely people."
Lovely people or not, Renny knew she belonged with her great-grandmother who had cared for her all of her twelve years. Gram was in a hospital now—how sick Renny didn't know—but Renny was sure they'd be back together soon. She was as sure of that as she was that the father she had never known would come up the Mississippi one day to claim her.
