March Is “Paws to Read Month”

Little Cat's Luck and Little Dog, Lost

Did you know that March is “Paws to Read Month?” As their website explains, “PawsToRead.com and 'Paws to Read Month' were created to connect parents, educators, animal lovers, and child advocates to city, regional, state, and national programs that use shelter cats or trained therapy dogs to improve the literacy skills of children. We also provide tips, activities, and recommended reading lists to help schools and libraries celebrate 'Paws to Read Month' in March...and all year long!”

I’m so pleased to say that my novel in verse, Little Dog, Lost, is on their list of “Recommended Cat and Dog Books to Read Aloud to Cats and Dogs (and Kids!).” And of course, I would add Little Cat’s Luck as well. If you’re looking ahead to April, remember that it is National Poetry Month—and as novels in verse, these titles are great classroom reads for that month as well!
